Welcome to the Community Services Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan!

What is the purpose of the project?

The purpose of this project is to develop a master plan that will provide guidance to the District of Sechelt in establishing priorities for parks, recreation, and culture facilities and programs in the District.

Why is this project important?

With evolving community needs, now is an excellent time to develop a plan for parks, recreation, and culture development in the District. This project is an opportunity to engage the community to identify their current and future needs with the goal of improving well-being and overall quality of life. It is envisioned that the final master plan will be a highly useful planning tool that enables the District to respond to future needs and make informed decisions.

Expedition Consulting has been commissioned to work closely with the District to develop the plan and coordinate a variety of community engagement opportunities.

We Want to Hear From You!

The District invites residents and community organizations to share their input on what is of greatest importance to them in terms of parks, recreation, and culture development. There are several ways to provide input, including online surveys, pop-up engagement stations, and an open offer to speak with the consultant team.

Survey

Are you a resident or part of a community group? Select a link below to let us know your thoughts. The surveys are open until March 7, 2026.

Engagement Pop-Ups

We are bringing the conversation to you! On March 3, 4 and 7 2026, the project team will be out and about to host pop-up engagement stations. These stations provide a convenient, drop-in style opportunity for you to share your input. The stations will feature project boards that you can “stick” your input onto as well as fun, family-friendly activities to enjoy, including a lawn game challenge, balloons and colouring for the kids and an opportunity to show off your artistic talent through our “draw the future” activity. Drop by, add your voice, and help shape what comes next for parks, recreation and culture in Sechelt!
